ETN integrates
Common Access Point

Common Access Point
Trans-European service for off-country access to customs procedures.

From the same local service ...

Customers need to submit electronic customs procedures to different national customs administrations. Before there could be a single window to customs administration in Europe, ETN provides a service for addressing companies' needs.

Different from a 'single' or unique interface to all European customs administrations, the Common Access Point do not pursue to offer just one window, but to use the local ETN partner service to serve as common point for other national customs administrations. This approach has many advantages, from the adapted interface to the user location (language, data, support, help line, ...) to the no-wait time for providing the service.

This service is being roll out through the help of the eTEN programme of the European Commission.

... to every European customs administration

The essence is in the distributed nature of the ETN network. When a customer works in some country with ETN services is using a locally-adapted, certified application that enables access to national customs administration procedures. With the use of a common dataset, declarations can be codified and sent through the ETN backbone to any other partner that adapts it to the receiving country local format and submits it in proper form.
